Elderberry Herb contains only dried elderflower in its composition. It is recommended for brewing to support the body’s immunity and decongest the sinuses. As an infusion, it is ideal for problematic skin care.

Elderflower – what is it?

Elderberry [Latin: Sambucus nigra] is a common shrub found throughout Poland, which can grow up to 10m tall. From mid-May, elderberry owes its distinctive appearance to the beautiful white flowers gathered in showy umbels. From the flowers, purple-black fleshy fruits set. The medicinal and culinary properties of this plant have been known for years and apply to both the flowers and the fruit.

Elderberries – what is in them?

Elderflowers are very rich in flavonoids and quercetin. They are also, of course, a valuable herbal raw material because of the essential oils they contain. Medicinal substances that are responsible for the healing properties of elderberry flowers include phytosterols, triterpenes, phenolic acids, tannins, pectin or mucilage. Elderberries also contain large amounts of mineral salts (in particular potassium, magnesium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus and zinc) and vitamins: the B group and vitamin C.
