Palo santo essential oil is used in the production of perfumes, and is characterized by an unusual aroma. Palo santo tree oil – properties
Palo santo oil is produced by steam distillation from the exotic bursera graveolens plant. Interestingly, only dead wood that has previously fallen to the ground is used – the resin only appears during the decomposition phase. In South American countries from where the name “palo santo” comes from, it means “sacred wood.” – as it turns out, this has a lot to do with the truth.
Palo santo exhibits antimicrobial activity – when inhaled, it facilitates breathing and supports the immune system against mild infections. The product has neurotonic properties, so it can regulate the nervous system. The oil also repels mosquitoes and other insects in the best possible way – naturally.
In palo santo oil, the chemical compound limonene is responsible for many medicinal properties. Thanks to it, the product can relieve bothersome pains and inflammation of various origins. When used during a massage, it helps recovery from injuries and reduces symptoms associated with rheumatic diseases.
